Mom called yesterday and like always she sounds great. She was not able to get to a computer as there were about 100 hikers and only one computer for them all to share. She is now hiking towards Damascus, VA and where they are planning to go to another hiker party. Meme was able to send me some pics that she took yesterday when she met with Mom for a food drop. We thought we should share them with all of you. A new map and some new pics...This is where they stayed last night

Mark and I met with Donna yesterday April 26 in Erwin TN. Very warm day there as it is here. The place was packed and also full of tents. It was called Uncle Johnny's Hostel. There was over 100 hikers there and there was a shuttle into town and the stores every 2 hours. We took, MND, K-Bar, Sound Track, Pellet and Cloud Buster into town where they were going to knock around for a couple of hours. They are as usual all in great moods and having a wonderful time. I take Donna fresh fruit each week and she loves it as well as fresh salad's every other week. Her food is holding up well and she is the envy of all, as all others have to go to town and buy a weeks work of food for the hike.
ReplyDeleteThe next and last meet for Mark and I will be around May 6th in Damascus Va. The hike there is an easier hike than thru the Smokies, as today they are only hiking a 5 mile up mountain and then it pretty much levels off thru to the Va. stop. She said they tell her Va. take a month to get thru, so that puts her into Pa somewhere around the first week of June.
