Mom More Notes for You...

6 comments:

  1. I talked with her last night and no redness, no pain and no buring in either her ankle and knee. So that is great. No blisters from the new shoes either. The trail has been rough with the rains etc. the last several days, but she is in fine spirits and moving on NORTH!

  2. Tell Mom that I'm cheering her all the way. Both my daughters will have the opportunity to do some backpacking this year--Chrissy in Olympic Natl Park and Emily in Yellowstone. Girlpower!

  4. I just spoke to MND. We are set to meet on Wed. 6-17-09 in Wayesboro Va. This will be the last time I see her in the south. She is doing great other than it rains daily and she is pretty sick of being wet all the time. She said the hills or in this case, MOUNTAINS are still hard for her to do. Her lungs do not like the upward climb. Last night she camped with a Boy Scout Troop and they had a nice fire going, so she was able to dry out some of her things. My son Mark, his daughter, Rachel and I will travel a little less than 8 hours to spend the night with her on Wed. Then she is off to the north and we will return to the south.
    Way to go girl friend!!!!!

  5. A funny thing to do is, if you're out hiking and your friend gets bitten by a poisonous snake, tell him you're going to go for help, then go about ten feet and pretend that *you* got bit by a snake. Then start an argument with him about who's going to go get help. A lot of guys will start crying. That's why it makes them feel good when you tell them it was just a joke.”

  6. It isn't the mountainahead that wears you out; it's the grain of sand in your shoe.

One may walk over the highest mountain one step at a time.
